Going retro.

Chris's sister was GETTING RID OF THIS LAMP. Thank god she gave it to me. Just look at it.

Isn't it amazing? The amber dimpled glass is keeeling me. It could use a new shade, though. This one is dirty and falling apart. Perhaps I could save for a cute Anthro one. They have some amazing embroidered ones with every color in the rainbow. Love.

Here's what the corner of our living room looks like now.

The kitchen light came.

It came! And it's all installed! Do you like? One thing I didn't think about when I got this: it's hard to clean. Like, really difficult.

Turned off:

My kitchen is something I struggle with. The colors are all so dark--the cabinets are nearly black, the appliances are black and the counter tops are dark grey. What were we thinking when we chose everything so DARK? I'm trying to brighten it with fun things (like this light). We'll get a better curtain (more colorful!) in there sometime soon, as well. One step closer...

Kitchen lighting.

The light on the left came standard. The light on the right (much more whimsical!) is being shipped to me now.
